Weather Conditions
Know the weather conditions before heading out. If the weather is bad, it is best to postpone your kayaking trip.
Be aware of your surroundings. Always be aware of what is going on around you and be prepared to take evasive action if necessary.
Make sure that your kayak is properly fitted to you. Kayaks can be very slippery, so make sure that you have a good grip on the handles and that your feet are secure in the foot pedals.
